About Us
Newcastle Flamenco Dance Studio, founded by Deya Miranda Giner, a distinguished flamenco dancer and teacher, is the premier destination for flamenco dance education and fitness programs in Newcastle.
After years of training and performing professionally in Spain, Deya has returned to Australia to share the captivating world of flamenco and promote Spanish culture in the Hunter Region. Our studio offers a fusion of traditional and modern flamenco dance classes and performances.
Classes and Offerings
If you're seeking exciting activities in the Newcastle Area, join us for our flamenco dance or Gypsy Gym fitness classes. Our programs cater to all ages and fitness levels, ensuring an inclusive experience for everyone. We also hold Gypsy Gym sessions in the Hamilton area.
Adult Flamenco Classes
Our 1 hour adult flamenco classes are divided into three segments:
- First 20 minutes: Focus on body techniques including posture alignment, arm and hand movements, and rhythmic footwork.
- Next 20 minutes: Dive into dance choreography accompanied by live flamenco singing, enhancing your understanding of the dance-singing relationship.
- Concluding phase: Engage in a brief footwork drill to reinforce your skills.
Children's Flamenco Classes
1 Hour classes suitable for children ages 5-11 Our specialized children's program includes:
- Spanish language instruction
- Flamenco dance sessions with adapted routines to improve motor coordination and balance
Gypsy Gym Flamenco Fitness Classes
Experience a comprehensive 1 hour fitness session:
- Warm-up routines
- Stretching exercises
- Relaxation techniques
- Dance workouts
Our fitness classes aim to enhance overall fitness, correct posture, relieve stress, promote weight management, and tone muscles. All fitness levels are welcome.
